Why Travelogue / Photolog ?

Maui in February is good, good to get away from the cold of everywhere else, good for checking out whales, good because if I'm there, I'm on vacation without any sight of pressing work to be done... ahhh. Be forewarned however, the fruit and flowers are not out like they are in the summer, but you get whales!

This was initially going to be just another photo gallery for the family but I realized that it could actually turn into a decent source of information for web surfers. We had some friends coming with us this time so I was actually surfing the web before our trip, looking for pictures and information to send them regarding some of the things we would see and do while there. I couldn't find much. I had been to Maui a few other times before so I knew exactly what I was looking for in the search engines, even knew how to spell most of those strange names; but never came up with much. The memory of this fruitless search occurred to me when I was putting together this photo gallery and I thought that I could maybe help out with someone's travels by telling of some of my experiences and sharing my photos with the world (a good deal of the photographic credit in the galleries goes to Craig Newlin, if the picture is good, he probably took that one).

My wife's parents moved to Maui in 1999 (I think?) so we've been to see them a few times since. Now since my in-laws live there (in Lahaina) I'm not going to have one iota of information in the site about hotels. Furthermore, I don't golf. So not much there about that either. I'm a simple guy who enjoys the simple things so what you will get plenty of is nature, where to go, what to see and why you can do it without being on a tour bus. Although it says "February Travelogue/Photolog" up ^ there, I'll definitely throw in commentary about the summer trips I've taken as well. The only photos are from Februaury though.
